THE PRINT GUIDE

The right label.
The right paper.

A practical guide to choosing an output format and getting your labels onto paper.

Choose your output format

Label size

Preserving natural label dimensions

One cropped label per page. Page dimensions can vary when addresses or product tables need more space.

4 × 6 thermal

4 × 6 inch label stock

A fixed 101.6 × 152.4 mm page. The complete label is scaled proportionally inside the selected margin.

A4 sheets

Standard 210 × 297 mm paper

Choose one, two or four labels per sheet. Four-label output uses a 2 × 2 grid with automatic orientation for each label.

BEFORE YOU PRESS PRINT

Set up a clean first sheet.

Printer dialogs vary. Start with these settings and use one sheet to check alignment before a large batch.

  1. 1

    Match the paper size

Choose A4 for A4 output, or 4 × 6 inch stock for thermal output. Match the physical paper loaded in the printer.

  2. 2

Use actual size when paper matches

For fixed-size A4 and thermal output, begin with Actual size or 100% scale. Disable additional pages-per-sheet settings because LabelMaster has already arranged the labels.

  3. 3

    Check margins and orientation

If your printer cannot print to the edge, select a suitable margin in the label tool. Let the PDF page orientation determine the sheet orientation.

  4. 4

    Inspect one printed sheet

Check the barcode, address and final Product Details row. Confirm scanning and alignment before printing the rest of the batch.

Common print issues

Four labels look too small

Use A4 · 4 labels in the tool and one PDF page per sheet in the print dialog. Do not also select four pages per sheet in the printer settings.

The invoice is still visible

Enable Remove invoices. If the PDF is scanned or its layout cannot be recognised reliably, the whole page is kept to avoid losing label content.

The edge is missing on paper

Increase the output margin to suit your printer's printable area. Also confirm that the driver paper size matches the PDF output.

There is blank space around a label

Labels keep their proportions. Some blank space is expected when a label's shape differs from the selected paper. Label size output retains the natural cropped dimensions.
