How to use Rotate PDF Pages
Correct orientation issues in your PDF documents by rotating pages 90°, 180°, or 270° clockwise. Thermal label printers feed roll paper vertically; if your shipping label is oriented horizontally (landscape) or upside-down, it will print sideways or get clipped at the edges. This tool permanently rotates the PDF page structure so your documents print correctly every time.
Select your PDF file and observe the current page orientation in the live preview.
Choose your desired clockwise rotation angle: 90° (Quarter Turn), 180° (Half Turn / Upside Down), or 270° (Three-Quarter Turn).
Click 'Rotate PDF' to modify the document's internal rotation metadata.
Download the corrected PDF and verify that pages feed properly in your printer preview.

Printer & Document Compatibility Matrix
Aligning PDF Orientation with Thermal Printers
Essential operational checkpoints to prevent pickup rejections, blurred barcodes, and courier SLA breaches.
Avoid applying rotation twice. If your PDF viewer or printer driver also has an 'Auto-Rotate' setting enabled, it may turn the page a second time during printing. Always check your print preview screen.
Thermal printers feed paper from top to bottom. For 4×6 inch rolls, the top of the shipping label (where carrier logos and routing barcodes usually reside) should enter the printer first.
If your document contains mixed orientations (some pages portrait, others landscape), use our Split PDF tool to extract the landscape pages, rotate them, and merge them back together.
Match Driver Orientation
Ensure your printer driver is set to 'Portrait' for standard 4×6 rolls once the PDF itself has been rotated into vertical orientation.
Test One Label First
Always print a single test label after rotating to confirm the barcode prints along the feeding axis rather than sideways.
Questions about this tool
Detailed guidance covering printer settings, paper dimensions, invoice separation, and courier scanning requirements.
Does rotating a PDF change its page dimensions to 4×6 inches?
No. Rotating only turns the page orientation (e.g. from landscape to portrait). If you need to change physical page dimensions to 4×6 inches, use our Thermal Label Converter or Resize PDF tool.
Can I rotate only specific pages in a PDF?
This tool applies rotation uniformly to all pages in the document. To rotate only specific pages, split out the target pages first using our Split PDF tool, rotate them, and recombine with Merge PDF.
Will rotating degrade the quality of barcodes?
Not at all. The rotation updates the PDF coordinate matrix directly. Vector paths, fonts, and images retain 100% of their original digital clarity.
Why do some rotated labels still print sideways?
This happens when your PDF reader's print dialog has 'Auto-Rotate and Center' checked, which can counteract your chosen orientation. In your print dialog, select 'Portrait' and uncheck automated orientation overrides.
100% Private On-Device Processing
Shipping manifests and delivery labels contain sensitive customer names, addresses, phone numbers, and financial invoice details. Unlike traditional converters that upload your PDFs to remote cloud servers, LabelCropTools processes and renders all documents directly inside your web browser using client-side WebAssembly. Your files never touch external servers or third-party databases.
