How to use Resize PDF Page Dimensions

Adjust the physical page dimensions of your PDF documents while keeping all text, graphics, and barcodes proportionally scaled. Whether you need to adapt an A4 shipping invoice for a compact 4×6 thermal label roll, convert a legal document to standard A4 office paper, or prepare A5 slips, this tool refits page boundaries without stretching or distorting vector elements.

01Step 1

Select your PDF document and preview its current paper size in the studio.

02Step 2

Choose your desired target format: '4×6 Thermal' (101.6×152.4 mm), 'A4 Standard' (210×297 mm), or 'A5 Compact' (148×210 mm).

03Step 3

Verify that the proportional fit preview maintains readable text and clear barcode spacing.

04Step 4

Download your resized PDF and send it to your printer at 100% scale.

Best Practices for Resizing Shipping Documents

Essential operational checkpoints to prevent pickup rejections, blurred barcodes, and courier SLA breaches.

Crop unwanted sections before resizing. If an A4 page contains both a shipping label and an extensive tax invoice, scaling the entire A4 page down to a 4×6 inch label will make the text and barcodes tiny. Crop the label first using our Marketplace Croppers or Custom Crop tool.

Some white margin is expected when the aspect ratio of the source page differs from the target sheet. Independent stretching would distort barcode bars and lead to scanning failures.

Resizing alters the physical dimensions of the page; it does not compress file size. If you need smaller file sizes, remove unnecessary pages or crop unused margins.

Pro Tip • Barcode

Crop Before Shrinking

Always crop out non-essential invoice sections before resizing an A4 document onto a 4×6 thermal label. Otherwise, the barcode will be scaled down too small for handheld scanners.

Pro Tip • Printer

Check Printer Stock Settings

Ensure the printer driver matches the exact paper size you selected in the tool (e.g. A4 vs 4×6) to avoid mismatched paper margins.

FAQ & Troubleshooting

Questions about this tool

Detailed guidance covering printer settings, paper dimensions, invoice separation, and courier scanning requirements.

Q

Will resizing distort or stretch my shipping barcodes?

No. Our engine strictly applies uniform proportional scaling. The height and width are scaled by the exact same multiplier, ensuring barcode bar-to-space ratios remain perfectly intact for optical scanners.

Q

Can I convert an A4 invoice directly to a 4×6 thermal label?

Yes, but if the A4 sheet contains a lot of fine text (like tax terms and conditions), scaling the entire page will make text very small. For best results, use our marketplace croppers to isolate just the label portion first.

Q

Which target option should I select for 100×150 mm thermal rolls?

Select the 4×6 option (101.6×152.4 mm). It is virtually identical to 100×150 mm. In your printer driver properties, set the paper size to 100×150 mm for optimal edge alignment.

Q

Does resizing change image or scan resolution?

No. It scales the display coordinates of the page. Vector content remains infinitely sharp, while embedded images retain their original pixel resolution.

Zero Data Transmission Guarantee

100% Private On-Device Processing

Shipping manifests and delivery labels contain sensitive customer names, addresses, phone numbers, and financial invoice details. Unlike traditional converters that upload your PDFs to remote cloud servers, LabelCropTools processes and renders all documents directly inside your web browser using client-side WebAssembly. Your files never touch external servers or third-party databases.
